Documents Attestations from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation provides legal validity of work, educational, marriage, and birth certificate documents for use outside the borders of Saudi Arabia.

  1. Go to MOFA website to make a request for attestation. Please click HERE.

  2. Create a request: Ratification > New Ratification Request > Choose Ministry Of Foreign Affairs or it branches -Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Office.

  3. Continue to ‘Book an appointment’ for document submission through MOFA after the website. Please choose the early morning time.

  4. Go to online bank services and make the payment (SADAD payment > Define Bills > add bills > Government Sectors >MOFA Services). Alternatively, you can make it at bank ATM.

  5. Complete the following steps through your KAUST portal: GA eservices > Attestation services > Attestation from Foreign Affairs (MOFA)

  6. Send by UPS (mail carrier) the original document to the Government Affairs center

  7. Once the GA representative collect the original document GA center will send it to your address by the UPS (mail carrier)

  • To make a Ratification request in MoFA website, you must have Nafath App. You can use the same ID and password of Absher account.

  • Requester must create both request and appointment before submitting a request from KAUST portal. Without the appointment, GA cannot provide the service.

  • We recommend to make a payment after making the appointment in case the MOFA system cannot create the appointment.

  • If the document is issued by KAUST, no need to have Chamber of commerce attestation is not needed.

  • The recipient name must be specified rather than ‘To whom may concern’. If it is a letter from KAUST, please contact Graduate Affairs/ HR for modification. Then, ask GA to add the manager’s signature on it.

  • If a document has a validity, it must be valid when handled in the Ministry.
