Security Update: Digital Vehicle Sticker
Published on Sep 18, 2024
We are pleased to announce that, in collaboration with KAUST IT and the KAUST Smart team, starting from September 1, vehicle entry to KAUST will be streamlined through the new Digital vehicle sticker system, which will replace the current vehicle RFID system (vehicle sticker).
Effective September 1, only vehicles with active Digital vehicle sticker will be granted entry.
Sticker issuance procedures
The procedures will remain the same as the current vehicle RFID tags, with the only difference being that nothing will be installed on the vehicle windshield, eliminating the need to visit the Sticker Office. This enhancement is part of our ongoing efforts to improve access and convenience for our community members.
Sticker validity
The validity of your digital vehicle Sticker will be linked to your driving license, vehicle insurance, and KAUST ID. The sticker will expire on the earliest expiry date of any of these documents.
- Users with Valid RFID tags by September 1:
- The security database will continue to indicate that your vehicle information is valid. No further action is required.
- Users are responsible for generating the QR Code for their Digital Vehicle sticker. To do this, please follow the steps below:
- Login to KAUSTCentral App.
- Choose one of the QR code options
- Update your car’s license plate number (first time only).
- Show the generated QR at the gate (one unified QR) Upon entry, gate security will confiscate any physical RFID tags.
- Users without valid RFID tags or new requests for a digital vehicle sticker:
- Login to MYGA.kaust.edu.sa and create a Digital Sticker request.
- Wait for approval from all approvers.
- Once security activates it, follow the steps mentioned above in point 1 for ” users with valid RFID tags”
This new digital system will greatly facilitate access to KAUST and simplify the vehicle Sticker issuance process, making it more efficient and convenient for everyone.
