Our Contribution to Sustainability
Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Government Affairs is working closely with the Alber Charity on Ramadan/Eid donation activities. These donations are distributed within Thuwal community to support low income families.

- To collaborate with Saudi Food Bank to take the extra food after GA events.
- To Provide a recyclable boxes to be used after GA meeting (Zero Waste in GA events).

- GA established Security Fitness Program
- GA conducting annually 10K walk event for GA staff
- GA is celebrating annually the International Day of Happiness event in KAUST
- GA supported in organizing the Blood Donation event with the Ministry of Health collaborations.
- GA has obtained MOH approval to provide KAUST community with +15,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses during the pandemic period.
- GA has obtained the Royal Court approval for KAUST arrivals to use KAUST–INN as an Institutional Quarantine location.

- GA supported 40+ employees to complete their higher education (Bachelor and Masters).
- GA is playing a key role in on-boarding process in collaboration with the government entities for KAUST Students and Faculties.
- KAUST is attracting talents by providing a safe and secure environment in KAUST community.

- GA has established a Leadership Program for females and males in collaboration with HR to prepare future leaders for GA.
- Security department is introducing new female role (Security Officers). The target by 2024, is to have 12 female security officers in duty.

- Explore Saudi Arabia program which was established by GA is supporting local market and economy by organizing tourism trips to different cities around the Kingdom.
- GA is providing internship opportunities that promote the inclusion of the younger generation in the workforce (Security Champion – Elevate – Wise).
- To procure all giveaway items related to GA major events (such as the happiness day event) from local vendors to support the local economy growth.

- Innovative initiatives & digital processes of GA and Security services, leading to a reduction of material resources (paper, printing supplies, plastic cards…) in addition to increasing service efficiency.
- Road connectivity initiative between KAUST and KAEC will contribute to develop the infrastructure in the area.

- Security team has in the fleet more efficient and environment friendly vehicles such as Electrical Golf carts, Drones, Segways and Bikes.
- GA is working with Community Life team to provide Eco cars for security fleet in the new vehicles contract (FY23).
- GA is working with KAUST Smart in multiple initiatives to offer a wide services for the community in KAUSTCentral App, such as:

- Systems automation for GA and Security services is a main goal for GA to reduce printing and waste generation

- Explore Saudi Arabia team will ask and encourage the travelers to bring their reusable items during the trips.
- GA will work in reducing the use of plastic materials in GA events such as happiness day event.
- Include waste generation, disposal guidelines and environmental awareness messages and announcements in GA events.

- During Explore Saudi Arabia trips, KAUST community will be planting a tree on each trip.
- GA is working in a new initiative to participate in Greening Arabia Initiative by planting the KAUST ramp in Jeddah-highway (KAUST bridge)

- GA have formed a sustainability committee to facilitate and collaborate to promote the KAUST Sustainability.
- GA have supported the program by write a fixed elements (Activities) on its MoUs with other partners (Government sectors, Mega projects, and security industries).
GA sustainability contribute on 11 out of 17 main pillars.
